Due to the volume of complaints, the FTC cannot respond directly to every complaint. The FTC and other law enforcement agencies analyze complaints to spot trends and to identify and take action against the people responsible for these illegal calls.
What's a Robocall?
If you answer the phone and hear a recorded message instead of a live person, it's a robocall. You've probably gotten robocalls about candidates running for office, or charities asking for donations. These robocalls are allowed. But if the recording is a sales message and you haven't given your written permission to get calls from the company on the other end, the call is illegal. In addition to the phone calls being illegal, their pitch most likely is a scam.

DriveTime Debt collection communication tactics frequent or repeated calls December 24, 2015 - If the payment is not there immediately on the day it is due, regardless of the 10-day grace period or the fact that I have NEVER paid late in over a year, they call that day and every day until it is received. Payments are scheduled on paydays and it takes a couple of days to get the payment to them, so I have over 70 calls logged from them in the past year. I ca n't stand it! Give me a few ( 5-10 ) days grace period and THEN if I have n't paid, I understand a call, but this is utterly ridiculous!!! ... |
DriveTime Consumer Loan taking out the loan or lease December 23, 2015 - - 2013 I purchased a vehicle from Drive Time in -, Al & the sales manager insisted I had to purchase a 5 year warranty at $2800.00 to be financed at the 22 % interest rate on top of car price. I was also told that if I made payments on time & showed perfect pay history after a period of time like a year that DT Credit would re-fi this loan at a lower interest rate. After 18 months of perfect pay history I called & I was told this was a LIE!!!!. ALso I was informed it is illegal to make warranty mandatory. It should be presented as optional. I met with the customer service rep and manager who was very friendly and welcoming. I sought interest on a - - Journey and test drive the vehicle and everything was smooth. I requested for a car fax and the representative stated that the vehicle was in perfect condition and had no ; repossessions, accidents, and rebuilds. He ended up passing away last year. DriveTime Consumer loan problems when you are unable to pay December 4, 2015 - I am a person that has gotten a car loan wit DT Auto Credit. When my loan is a day late, they call me - times in a row. As of right now, my loan payment was due on - and they have called me a total of - times since - about my payment. Even when I tell them what day I am going to pay my payment, they proceed to call me sometimes a the next week to tell me that the information has been kicked out of their system. After being harassed the first time around the company still can not get it together. I had to put money in to my car which my warranty did not cover, I faxed all the information requested months ago for deferments which the people I spoke with several times had stated was approved.
