In - of 2015 I purchased a car from Drivetime in -. I was given temporary plates and was told that my permanent plates would be mailed to me. The expiration date on the plates was approaching so I called. " They are on their way. '' I called everyday for 2 weeks. Nothing. My son went to the store for me and was pulled over, 1 day after the temps expired. He was ticketed. I went to the Drivetime store and spoke to -, the GM. He stated, " I am so sorry. Your car 's file was placed in a drawer with some others and the paperwork for registration was never sent out. '' He then proceeded to ask for the ticket and my insurance information. He stated, " I will make sure this is taken care of before the court date. It was our fault. This is our responsibility. '' I was given another temporary plate and when I asked for the original ticket, he said he needed it for payment.
told by another rep that - would no longer be taking calls from my on this matter. It was considered closed. We have not received any letter from the courts so we thought the matter was indeed taken care of. My son, who is now -, is swearing into the military this week. We find out that NOTHING has been paid and my son has WARRANTS!! When I call Drivetime, I speak to - who has to " research '' this because it has been 6 months and then says, " If I were you I would get a lawyer. '' Then she follows it up that they will only pay a partial cost of the fines as - initially stated. I 'm sorry but after almost a year of fighting with this company, not even including the mechanical issues I have had with the car is just to much! If they had done their job filing the paperwork there would never have been a traffic stop to begin with.
