My daughter wanted to purchase her first car on her own, but even though her credit score qualified, she did not have sufficient income, so I had to co-sign with her in order for her to purchase a car through DriveTime. The information presented during the financing of the vehicle was extremely misleading, because nowhere does it spell out that -- % of your payments will ALWAYS go to interest, which means you will ALWAYS be upside down on your car loan. Our intention at the time of purchase was to get the car, pay on it for 12 months until she could qualify to finance on her own and then refinance it to remove my name. That will never happen because of the way that they setup the payments and interest. This should be not allowed. These people take major advantage of folks and then leave them hanging with no way out. Additionally, they consider you " delinquent '' on your payment if you are one day late, and no matter who you talk to and notify them of when you will be making the next payment, they call continuously and pretend they have no notes about your payment. Surely something can be done about these people!!!! This is ridiculous. Now my daughter qualifies for a loan on a brand new vehicle with more than one bank, but because of how the loan is structured with DriveTime there is no way for her to trade it in or refinance it. Her only way out is to let the car go back to DriveTime which would immediately ruin her credit that we have worked so hard to establish. These people are crooks!!!!
