Amex consumers have reported over 200 official complaints related to Customer service / Customer relations. Out of the 200 consumer complaints against Amex, 24% were disputed by the consumer (i.e. the consumer was not happy with how Amex responded to their complaint) and 100% were processed in a timely manner. 20% of consumer complaints against Amex resulted in the consumer receiving monetary compensation (e.g. money, cash reimbursement, etc.) and 20% resulted in non-monetary compensation.

I sent a certified letter to American Express at their correspondence address advising I did not recall said inquiries or application to Amex for any of their services. The representative informed me that they do not do balance transfers between AME- cards, but that I could upgrade '' my card to - with 0 % APR. I agreed. A few days later, I received a new AME- card in the mail with a different number than my existing card.
