I have - Amex accounts - a business account and personal account. On -/-/-, I redeemed Blue Cash Preferred Reward Dollars from my personal account for - American Express Gift Cards totaling $170.00. The website would n't accept my billing address, a - - , as a shipping address so I called customer service. The agent said they do not ship gift cards to a - - . I explained that the USPS does n't deliver to my physical address. I also informed the agent that I received Amex gift cards in -, using points from my - Amex card, that were sent to my - - . The agent eventually agreed to ship the gift cards to my physical address via -. I received an order confirmation via email ( attached ). On -/-/- I received an email ( attached ) confirming shipment of the gift cards - but the tracking code link to the USPS did not work. I contacted Customer Service and began an endless process of being transferred from one department to another over a period of 3 weeks. I was informed that I must wait 7 - 10 business days for delivery. After waiting 10 business days I was informed that the cards actually shipped on -/-/- so I needed to give them a few more days. Then I was asked to allow more time for delivery and if the cards did not arrive Amex would expedite replacement cards via -. On -/-/- I was informed that the cards never shipped and to allow 3 - 5 business days for an investigation ... I 've been an American Express member since - and never had such a bad experience with customer service. Every call required starting over and many of the agents did n't listen to the details and did n't seem to care. A few of the Amex customer service agents I spoke with were very rude. I have consulted an attorney but have not retained his services yet.
