Amex Credit card department,
Customer service / Customer relations Florida
I returned from an international assignment to the USA on -/-/16. I applied for a new credit card with American Express and was approved on -. I received my credit on -. I called and activated my card on that same day - the agent stated I could use the card immediately. On the phone, I had the agent document - very important transactions I needed to make. I then logged into the AME- portal and tested those transactions in their verification tool - both transactions were approved. On - I drove - miles to complete a car purchase, of which a down payment was - of my important transactions. The transaction was denied and when I called the AME- customer service agent, they said they could n't help me. The next day I was sent a request to get a form notarized that provided my identify. I have sent that in and continually call into AME- to get my problem resolved, which is still outstanding. At this point, I have to wonder if AME- is discriminating against me based on my international background and heritage? This situation has become unfathomable.
