Amex Credit card department,
Customer service / Customer relations California
I am writing this email as I have no other recourse. American Express does n't have a complaint department ( at least that 's what I was told on the telephone ) and their website does n't include an email address. Over the past two days I 've been so frustrated with American Express customer service representatives. It is clear that their customer service department is outsourced. That is not an indictment upon the nationality of the representative, rather an indication of representatives who do n't care about American Express customers. Upon being provided a pin number to obtain a cash advance, as I was in an emergency, I found that my card did not work. I tried more than - ATMs and spoke to more than eight representatives with American Express. The answer I got from each representative was, " I 'm sorry but I ca n't help you. '' Since when did I 'm sorry I ca n't help you become a satisfactory answer for a customer service representative to provide a long-time customer who is in an emergency? On two occasions the representatives took steps to try and provide further assistance, but ultimately resulted in blind transferring me to another department who similarly was unable to help. I spoke to supervisors and all we 're happy to state that they were unable to help me. Why should I continue to do business with a company who care so little about their customers that they hire customer service representatives who ca n't fix problems and frankly do n't care to do so? Perplexed and perturbed ....
