I have attempted - times ( First request -/-/15. Last request -/-/15 ) to change the business name on my American Express - - card by online chat and phone. I was changing from a sole proprietorship to another sole proprietorship, so it should n't have required much new information. - times, I had been assured that the changes have been made and I could expect a new card in the mail with the new business name within 7-10 business days. This has not happened. Also, I had recently received a new card due to fraudulent activity on my account. Since then I have been having great difficulty verifying my account. - out of the - times I 've contacted Customer Service, I 've been told to have the primary account holder make the business name change requested, however I am the primary and only user on the account. I suppose there may be some confusion because my - name is on the account and my shortened first name is on the credit card, but it 's like confusing the difference between - and -. - and -. - and -. I would assume they would have the common sense to know that the - names belong to - and the same person. It 's terribly frustrating. When asked what needs to happen to avoid this in the future, I 'm offered no solutions. When asked what is preventing me from making the business name change on the account they place me on hold or reply in the chat to 'wait one moment ' but all I 'm told is that the changes have been made when it has n't.
