Amex consumers have reported over 106 official complaints related to Other fee. Out of the 106 consumer complaints against Amex, 21% were disputed by the consumer (i.e. the consumer was not happy with how Amex responded to their complaint) and 99% were processed in a timely manner. 32% of consumer complaints against Amex resulted in the consumer receiving monetary compensation (e.g. money, cash reimbursement, etc.) and 3% resulted in non-monetary compensation.

December 6, 2016 - All Previous fees had been paid. The only pending amount on the account was for " membership '' fee of $95.00. Against better my judgment I paid the fee and cancelled the card on -/-/2016. I spoke with a supervisor at -. The remaining fees are the $36.00 late fees for untimely payment of the membership fee. December 6, 2016 - Was charged for my American Express Platinum Business card $450.00 for annual fee on -/-/2016. March 26, 2016 - Applied and received the American Express Blue Cash Preferred Card. Amex charged me the annual fee of $75.00 upfront on -/-/15. I read and re-read the terms and conditions before applying and thought they would charge me the fee after a year using the card. Why would you pay for services you have n't even received? May 15, 2015 - I recently applied for and was approved for the American Express - card. Shortly after my - purchase, my card was declined to a fraud alert. American Express refused to resolve the issue over the phone and required me to obtain a notarized document from a bank and fax this to them. May 14, 2015 - Please look into the billing practices of American Express credit cards. Like most people, I always pay all my bills at the end of the month. Amex has changed its billing cycle so that payments arriving early in the following month incur a late charge of $35.00 unrelated to the amount then unpaid. May 5, 2015 - I was in a debt repayment program with a set amount that I paid each month to the credit card company. The final payment was an over payment. When I saw that I had a two dollar credit, I wrote and asked that I receive a refund check for this amount. I sent - letters, as I thought that the first did not reach them. April 22, 2015 - Hello, I would like to report American Express for breaking a Reg Z violation as they charged my credit card $190.00 annual fee, while I was only given a credit line of $1100.00. They charged me 17 % of my initial credit line, where the regulation states I can only be charged annual fees up to 15 % of my credit line.
