American Express is demanding payment of old annual fees on a dormant account otherwise with no balance or charges. I encountered severe problems affecting my health and my wife managed my business affairs. American Express insists on collecting annual card fees for that time despite the fact that they sent no notices and the account has been idle for at least 5 years. This is unconscionable as I received and asked for no services from them during that time.
