Barclays consumers have reported over 50 official complaints related to Late fee. Out of the 50 consumer complaints against Barclays, 8% were disputed by the consumer (i.e. the consumer was not happy with how Barclays responded to their complaint) and 100% were processed in a timely manner. 56% of consumer complaints against Barclays resulted in the consumer receiving monetary compensation (e.g. money, cash reimbursement, etc.) and 2% resulted in non-monetary compensation.

February 7, 2016 - I paid my credit card statement on the day it was due. The statement shows a due date of - -. There is no disclosure on my statement stating the payment is due before a certain time and time zone. I paid about - CST only after I attempted to call twice and was on hold for long periods of time BEFORE - CST to make a phone payment. I could n't get through, so therefore I went to pay online. by it was passed - CST by a few minutes. The system would not allow me to pay on - -, and I was FORCED to schedule the payment for - -. January 21, 2016 - In - I discovered my Barclay Credit Card was past due and I had been charged a late fee. I contacted the company and asked if they would waive the late fee and I would set up auto pay so this would not happen again. As a courtesy they waived the late fee and I set up auto pay for the minimum payment due on the due date of the - of each month. This month, -, I scheduled a payment for $50.00, then remembered that I already had the auto pay set up so I cancelled the $50.00 payment. January 16, 2016 - I was charged a late fee for for a payment that was on time. The money was withdrawn from my bank account by the company on -/-/- but they did not post the payment to my Barclaycard account until -/-/-. This resulted in a late payment fee of $25.00. I contacted the company and informed them of the error, and I was told that it is their policy to hold the payment for one to two days for processing. December 17, 2015 - I pay bills online exactly the day they are due. Barclay has decided to not accept online payments for my due date after - eastern time which is - for me. This has never been convenient and payments online after - is my standard procedure. This problem is currently occurring and has been an negative issue for several months. I have made this problem known to the company several times and they have responded by refunding the late fees, only to make me pay the amount due and removing the fees from the balance. October 7, 2015 - Barclaycard must have initiated a change in their fee waiver policy/strategy that no longer treats customers fairly. They have firmed their stance that regardless of loyalty to brand, credit worthiness or payment history, they will not waive fees that are not a bank error. This stance is unfair and disparate treatment ; if I were stop paying my monthly payments and allow my account to fall delinquent, I would be rewarded by various payment programs that would reduce my interest, zero it out all together OR, waive fees. September 26, 2015 - Closed my account at Barclay 's because they are unable to process my bank payments ( although no other companies have this problem ) Called every month since -/-/- to try to resolve issue. They say they will take off late fee and I should only pay 'x ' amount. I send in a check and pay the amount and they charge me for not paying the late fees. September 19, 2015 - I paid my credit card payment at - on due date - - 2015. The summary said payment was made- and will post on - - 2015. Barclay credit card has a cut off time of - for payments. All of my other credit cards have a - cut off and this is hard to remember. My statement arrived and has a late fee of $37.00. I called Barclay and ask for a refund. September 18, 2015 - My husband lost his job in -/-/- leaving my income as the only source for paying bills. It has become hard juggling rent, food, creditors and other debts. We contacted Barclay with our situation. With each month we are charged a late fee and over the limit fee. September 17, 2015 - I was charged a return check fee in error in - of 2015 by Barclaycard -. I called their customer service line and was assured that it had been removed. When my payment date came and went in -, I was charged a late payment fee as well as interest on the borrowed money. August 20, 2015 - I set up automatic minimum payments for all of my consumer credit cards in - for automatic payments to begin in -, - of those accounts being a Barclaycard Account. June 18, 2015 - My wife makes my payments for me online. She usually makes the payments the day they are due or the day before. She makes the payments online. I recently looked at my account and found that I was charged late fees even though the payments were made on the due date. I find it hard to believe that it is legal for a credit card company to take my money ( payment - out of my checking account on the due date and post it the following day in order to charge me a late fee. May 6, 2015 - I received a letter from a credit card co. that my account was closed because it was past due, but I was unaware of a balance because they stopped sending a statement, and they did n't send an e-mail notification either.
