PayPal consumers have reported over 33 official complaints related to Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement. Out of the 33 consumer complaints against PayPal, 21% were disputed by the consumer (i.e. the consumer was not happy with how PayPal responded to their complaint) and 100% were processed in a timely manner. 21% of consumer complaints against PayPal resulted in the consumer receiving monetary compensation (e.g. money, cash reimbursement, etc.) and 39% resulted in non-monetary compensation.

PayPal Credit card identity theft / fraud / embezzlement June 24, 2015 - I purchased a coat in - 2014 on Ebay and used my Paypal account. The coat was NOT the real thing and I was told by the seller in - - to send it back using USPS and I would be refunded the money. The cost of the coat was $400.00 I had it insured. The seller in - - claims she never received it. The USPS says it was delivered and gave me a delivery receipt. When I called PayPal Credit, they would not release any information about the account because the phone number, physical address, and email address did not match, but they did close the account and open a fraud investigation.
