PayPal Credit card department,
Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement Tennessee
On - -, 2015 I received a call from -, which turned out to be from Paypal credit. The call was from their fraud department asking if I had applied for credit since I have an initial fraud alert on my credit file. I told them I had not applied for credit and asked what I needed to do next, they said to do nothing and that my fraud alert was working perfectly. The reference number for this conversation is -. Not wanting to leave anything to chance, I checked my credit file that day and found that my credit had been pulled on - -/PPC on my - file. I submitted a dispute with - to which they have already responded that credit pulls are a factual record '' and that I would need to work with Paypal to remove the inquiry. I have now called Paypal and they have been less than helpful to remove a credit inquiry that we both know I did n't submit. I have to send a letter to a - - in Maryland with no tracking or accountability to remove the inquiry. My concern is that someone has accessed my file, and now there 's a record of that on my credit file and I have not initiated this. I merely want Paypal to correct the issue and remove the credit inquiry from my file.
