September 20, 2016 - My private loan through US bank was forgiven last year. I just received a letter from them saying I was in default and that if I paid a lower amount now they would n't send me to collections. When I called them, they immediately told me it was a mistake and to disregard it. The lady I was talking to would not give me her name. I also asked for them to send me a letter showing it was a mistake which they will not send me. My concern is that they are doing this to others who will just pay the lower amount without realizing it is false....
