Discover Debt collection disclosure verification of debt right to dispute notice not received December 9, 2015 - I received a notice this year from the IRS stating that Discover sent them a - for an old collection where pmts had not been made since -/-/-. I did not settle this debt nor did I receive a - from the to file on my -/-/- taxes. Also, Discover still shows that I owe the full amount of this debt as a collection on my credit report and is still updating with no mention of settlement for less than balance. The IRS says I owe them $1000.00 and wants me to consent to changing my return. This debt has exceeded the Statute of Limitations and is set to be removed from my credit report... |

I engaged the services of a credit guy and he had me send a letter asking for legal validation. They sent the attached letter saying the statements copies they sent are validation. But as per the law, it was explained statements do not make up validation as per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ... |
