They had never formally notified the customers of this change of fee, either by posting, letters in the mail or advertising. I was not aware of this ridiculous amount until I reviewed my account for the balance. I had written letters to them but never got a response. Several other charges came in the same day and TCF has their computer program work so that it processes charges from largest to smallest. I have several examples I can send in the next few days. My account has been overdrawn due to my own behavior, but I believe they have exacerbated the problem with unreasonable- overdraft charges. I call them every month and they forgive a few but the next month I see charges moved around which creates additional overdraft fees to the tune of 100 's of dollars this year alone.... |

How can they charge an overdraft fee for each small purchase around $5.00.
