I never missed a single payment with this card, and I never missed a payment with any of my credit cards since 2008. The bank abruptly and capriciously cut my credit limit, which changed my utilization ratio. There was no conversation, no alert, no details - they just cut the limit. I contacted the cc company and advised them that I had never missed a payment or had any issues with this card and I do n't understand why my limit was decreased. Barclays Credit card credit line increase/decrease August 11, 2015 - My credit limit with my card is $8000.00. I wanted to make a purchase for about $15000.00 on the card, and so therefore, I prepaid my credit card by $7000.00 to effectively increase my spending limit to $15000.00. I co-signed on an auto rental with a temp subcontractor for a one-week term. After 2 weeks I received a call from the auto rental reminding me the auto was due in.
