Upon realizing this, I decided to make a payment of $100.00 from the account, which would take the balance down to a minimal amount ( and, presumably, avoid the inactivity fees ). I did opt in for this. In their Online Banking, it talks about what a great program this is for you and why you should use it. I was out of town for 3 weeks and needed to make a deposit via an app in order to avoid an overdraft fee. First Merit Bank does not allow overdrawn accounts to use any online/app features.
