June 8, 2016 - I went to SoFi web page to see what rates would be for a refinance of my student loans. The website is confusing and directed me to enter my name, address, zip code, phone number, DOB, citizenship, home ownership, school info, employment info and current student loan information. In hindsight outside requesting my social security number ( they did not and this was not provided ) this was an application for credit. January 26, 2016 - First of all, a bit of background : I have a good financial history in the US including several credit cards, an auto loan and a mortgage ( FHA ).
