Capital One consumers have reported over 45 official complaints related to Debt resulted from identity theft. Out of the 45 consumer complaints against Capital One, 29% were disputed by the consumer (i.e. the consumer was not happy with how Capital One responded to their complaint) and 100% were processed in a timely manner. 2% of consumer complaints against Capital One resulted in the consumer receiving monetary compensation (e.g. money, cash reimbursement, etc.) and 7% resulted in non-monetary compensation.

I have called them back twice. The first time I called they answered the phone " legal department '' the second time I called they said " mediation department ''. It says the account was opened back on -/-/-. I did not open the account and it was a result of identity theft. I talked to them over the phone and they promissed they would resolve the situation by doing their own investigation. after that I received another letter which states that they concluded the investigation and they concluded that I am responsible for a debt of over $4000.00.
