I have been consistently paying Navient, private loan, for over 5 years. Originally, they were collecting my extra monthly payment and using it for future payments. My balance would should - every month due to over paying. 2 years ago, I found out about this dirty practice and had them change extra payments to go towards principle loan. These past 3 months, it seems they changed my payment method back to extra payments being pushed to future interest or pay, showing a - monthly pay balance. After paying off $ - on a specific loan, I repeatedly told a Navient rep 2 months ago, I want extra payments to go towards principle. They did not comply to my request and have continued to keep my payment method same. This is a dirty practice and they are collecting " free '' money from the hardworking consumers. The loan balance has not gone down and they are stealing. I would have been done paying off the private loan had they put my extra payments to the principle loan. Please put a stop to this form of payment system by Navient. Thank you.
