TransUnion Credit reporting department,
Unable to get credit report/credit score Problem getting my free annual report Kansas
TransUnion 's website deceptively offers consumers a report, presumed to be free, without clearly indicating that they are charging fees and signing the consumer up for a subscription service. The service is charged without asking the user for confirmation. The website intentionally obscures the pages that allow the user to cancel their account. Support staff is only available via an - during certain hours, making it exceedingly difficult for overseas Americans to communicate with the company and cancel their accounts and charges. No email or chat support is provided. I am currently seeking confirmation of cancellation, after numerous reports from other consumers have established a pattern of intentional failure to cancel on TU 's part, combined with an intentionally obstinate call center, designed to make it difficult to leave the subscription program. I am also seeking to have my credit union block any charges if TU refuses. If TU fails to completely cancel my account and reverse any charges, I intend to contact the Attorney General to seek action against these deceptive trade practices, and may additionally file for recovery in small claims court.
