Discover Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing Pennsylvania
This complaint relates to the Discover credit card pre-approval online website titled Find My Offer ''. This site is deceptive and misleading consumers into taking the next step of submitting formal credit card applications. In my case, after submitting basic identifying information, such as name, address and the last - digits of my ssn on their initial 'Find My Offer '' site, a soft pull was performed on my credit file. After a brief pause, while my credit was being checked, led to a new Web site popping up, informing me of Your Personalized Offer '', along with
to the new Discover It card that I was Offered ''. I can accept a credit card denial, what I ca n't accept is misleading and deceptive marketing. The words Offer '' is utilized multiple times along with the extremely deceptive Your Personalized Offer ''. An Offer '' is just that, an Offer ''. Pretty straight forward language. This not only resulted in a hard pull on my credit report but, more importantly, the disclosure of other credit card account numbers which I hold. I would never have disclosed this information but for their language of Your Personalized Offer . After a review of Discover 's Find My Offer '' website, you may very well agree with my assessment. Thank you.
