When we talked -/-/-, I stated to her that I had a lawyer that was consolidating all of my loans ( private and federal ) no where in the conversation did she state that private loans could not be consolidated. My lawyer had told me prior to me and her talking that private loan companies will tell you that because it is more work to consolidate private loans than federal loans. July 27, 2015 - . In - of 2014 I called in to my student load holder and found out that my loans were in default. I then was set up on a payment agreement over my schedule payment to bring my loans out of default after 6 months. After completion of the 6 months my loans remain in default. I was then told until I repay the past due balance I would remain in default. My only option now is to increase my payments again over my loan payment.
