I did opt in for this. In their Online Banking, it talks about what a great program this is for you and why you should use it. I was out of town for 3 weeks and needed to make a deposit via an app in order to avoid an overdraft fee. First Merit Bank does not allow overdrawn accounts to use any online/app features. So I was unable to make the deposit necessary to avoid the overdraft fees. They also would not close or suspend my account ( because it was overdrawn ) to avoid the overdraft fees.
