These included phone calls from several different area codes (including calls to our son and my father in law via their phone numbers), an email and letter with a Minnesota address. We asked via phone and email -/-/- for complete verification information on the debt so we could look into the matter. They asked for my social security number and would not tell me what the debt was they were calling about. I do not give this information over the phone. I called back 3 times and without my social security number being verified. I am awaiting verification from them in my e-mail. They were unaware of the original claim and the particulars of what it was for. From my best information, it seems to be a debt about mental counseling, which never happened. The phone calls are for - -. The collection agency leaves personal information about this debt and threatens to file legal action against this person. When I called to ask them to stop, they refused to provide any information, including the address to which to mail a cease and desist letter.
