Incorrect information on credit report Account terms New Jersey

On -/-/2016 I contacted Convergent Outsourcing Inc. to settle a debt that was not listed on my credit report at all. I spoke to a rep and she explained to me that the settlement is for $270.00, which by paying this amount the debt would be considered paid in full and it would be cleared up. I paid it and within the same day I received an alert that they changed my account twice ( they duplicated the payment and my credit card company reverse one of the transactions ). I thought everything was over, but in -/-/- I received an alert from my credit monitoring app that Convergent Outsourcing Inc. is reporting this account to all - credit bureaus as a unpaid account. I contacted Convergent Outsourcing and spoke to two different reps ( - - and - - ) and I explained that I paid this debt 6 months ago I have the confirmation and credit card statement to show that I paid it. I also asked both of them why did the company post this account to my report if I paid the account 6 months ago, neither one of them could explain to me what happen. The dishonest from this company and their reps and completely uncalled for. They should be able to report anything to the credit bureau if the account was paid and settled 6 months ago. This account needs to be deleted and an investigation needs to be done to see why this company is scamming customers.
