Experian Credit reporting department,
Incorrect information on credit report Account status Virginia
My - is a paid charge-off account. In the state where I live ( Virginia ), the statute of limitations for paid charge-off accounts is 5 years if they can produce my signature on a written contract ; otherwise it is 3 years. That 's in Code of Virginia - ( - ) and ( - ). As the first delinquency occurred on or before -/-/-, Experian will be reporting this derogatory information in violation of the law if it persists in reporting this account in -/-/-. I am concerned with this because - - is still reporting this item as a charge off when it was paid with - balance and should either be deleted or listed as closed or paid in full. This is affecting my good credit record and continues to affect my credit rating. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
