U.S. Bancorp Prepaid Card Complaint

U.S. Bancorp Prepaid card department,

My daughter gave me a Mastercard Debit Card ( it was either for - - - ( -/-/- or - in -/-/- ). I carefully put it away until I took my grandson out to lunch for his -. Birthday on -/-/-. The waitress said the card would not register the $25.00. I called Mastercard only to find out that US Bank National Association had retrieved all of the $25.00. They directed me to read the find print on the back of the card. In the fine print on the card it said that if it was n't used in 12 months they would deduct $2.00 a month after 12 consecutive months of inactivity. The card read-valid through -/-/-. There had not been 12 consecutive months of inactivity. Even if I received it in -/-/-, I was using it in -/-/- which would mean only 8 months of inactivity. I could not get them to answer why the money was taken out before the 12 months were up. I wrote a letter to Mastercard at -, NY - on -/-/- asking them for an explanation as to why there was no money left on the card The letter was sent back unopened on -/-/-. I know this must be a petty thing but it was embarassing and $25.00 would have gone a long way in helping pay that bill. Plus the fact that they never answered my question about why the money was gone before the 12 months were even begun. This seems like a scam to me.
