- froze my heloc because they devalued my property i have since paid down both my first mortgage and second mortgage by over 50 %. they want me to order and pay for an appraisal which i am not going to do. when the froze my line they instructed me my home dropped in value to - which is -. but i will accept that value since i have paid down my mortgage by over 50 % i am not paying for an appraisal
