On -/-/2016, I rented a car from - - and on - -, 2016 turned in the car at the airport in my city. On -/-/2016, when I made the online reservation, I prepaid for the vehicle for the amount of time needed. On -/-/2016, I was charged an additional fee of ( $78.00 ) which appeared on my Discover Card statement. I contacted - - but was not given a reason for the extra charge. However, the amount ( $150.00 ) which I prepaid to use the vehicle was validated. I contacted Discover Card to dispute the ( $78.00 ) however was unable to get my money back because - - simply provided a copy of the bill for the extra charge. Discover Card did not understand that I had already paid for use of the rental car when I paid ( $150.00 ) and that no additional charges or fees were necessary or warranted. There was no damage to the vehicle and there was a full tank of gas. When I spoke with the billing department of -, the individual with whom I spoke could not explain the extra ( $78.00 ) and referred me to the airport location where I rented the car. When I finally reached someone at the airport location of -, I was told to call the billing department with customer service. I am getting the run around from both - and Discover Card, but need my money back from the double dip that - placed against my credit card account.
