I paid off a LOC balance with BB & T -/-/2016. However, the bank made a serious error in calculating the correct payoff and did not close the LOC account as instructed. That triggered a series of issues with my checking account ; additional interest ; late fees ; harassing phone calls from various BB & T employees ; NSF fees ; and countless hours on my part to clear up the issue including writing a formal complaint to Chairman and CEO - -. BB & T admitted the errors in writing ( - - Complaint Resolution Group -/-/2016 ). They also assured me in writing there would be no derogatory marks submitted to the credit agencies. Last week, I noticed my - score went from - to - with the only credit factor being BB & T reporting a negative Payment History -/-/2016 on my LOC that was supposed to be closed! When I contacted BB & T 's complaint resolution group they admitted -in writing -that the initial resolution was not done properly and - quote - " ... we failed to update coding on our system to state the -/-/2016 bill was satisfied and to close the

'' They made - significant mistakes ( -/-/- and -/-/- ) and then said I had to get personally involved to resolve the problem with the credit bureau that their company created. This is horrible customer service and a totally unacceptable response from my perspective. BB & T 's errors and lack of adequate Quality Assurance/Quality Control ( QA/QC ) processes to prevent such errors has caused severe personal harm to me since I 'm currently looking for a new home and plan to apply for a mortgage. I would expect a senior level - at BB & T would work directly with - ( and any other credit agency who might receive the bad file ) to resolve the error faster than 60 days. My complaint : BB & T has damaged my credit score ; admitted they made numerous mistakes ; and then told me it 's my problem - not theirs. Their errors and mistakes have placed me in a position where I will need to stop my search for a new home because of a low credit score. That is simply wrong.
