Conventional fixed mortgage Loan servicing, payments, escrow account Connecticut

In - - - - who I thought I had mortgage with was sold to - - - - and the mortgaging service company Shellpoint took over the servicing of loan. I have been with them a year, and early on they over charged us, then did not pay taxes for - and now again they are two months late with paying my taxes for -. Clearly my credit will be affected if taxes are not paid. I asked if I could switch mortgage servicing companies and was told that I could n't or I had to refinance, which is not an option for me right now. Please advise Is this true?
