I stopped in the branch to check on auto loan options for my son. While I was there, I paid the debit balance in my BB & T checking account which had been closed. At the recommendation of the personal banker, I opened a money account based on the fact it did not have check writing and I could not go below -. I told her this was the account I was going to pay my mortgage modification loan. She printed out a sheet with the routing number and account number to give to - Mortgage. I made deposits to cover the amount of the loan and called - around mid month to make the first payment.


During this time I also noticed other quarks, such as not be able to fill up at the pump without going in and having the attendant process my request. I went back to BB & T, showed them the letter from -. I had - people confirm the account information and there should be no other problems. I went home on - - and called - to make the payment. Again, no red flags, until the letter from - arrived stating the information was invalid, I did not make the payment on time, and they rescinded my modification offer. I went back to the BB & T branch with the - letter. It took several phone calls to find out this money account does n't recognize - party ACH payments even if the money is - - in the branch knew about this restriction. I had the personal banker write a letter to - on BB & T letterhead stating I was not aware of this feature. I called - and submitted letter from BB & T for consideration of extending the modification offer. They said they did n't care. The money was not paid is all they were concerned about. Then they fast tracked the foreclosure of my home. Just yesterday I found out another feature of this account not told to me, I can only deposit cash or another BB & T check into this money account. Again, something I could have been pointed out to me.
