An inquiry for SunTrust Bank appeared on my - credit report, an inquiry I did not authorize. This occurred while there was an active fraud flag on my account. I began by filing a dispute with -, but the inquiry remained. I then wrote a letter to SunTrust and asked that they remove the inquiry, but it remained. I then filed a - complaint on SunTrust. In response, SunTrust sent a letter stating that the information submitted on the application matches my contact information. That is not responsive - if someone is using my identification to fraudulently obtain credit, they are, by definition, going to use my information. SunTrust has declined to remove the inquiry, and that is unfair and inappropriate.
