I had an account with us bank with my insurance payment being automatically deducted. I cancelled my insurance because I had I got a job that offered insurance. I also changed banks but did not close my US Bank account as I wanted to make sure everything was setup with my new account first ( bill pay, direct deposit, ect. ). Unfortunately I did not close my account and stopped paying attention to the US bank account. Due to a mistake by - - of Idaho they continued to bill my US bank account for 4 more months. A few months later when I finally realized what had happened I called US bank to see what I needed to do to resolve this issue. Us bank said they wanted - check for every withdrawal and they still would not reverse any overdraft fees associated with the charges. I have been working with - to get the money back but in the process US bank sent me to collections. My problem is that US bank charged me over - in overdraft fees, extended overdraft fees and account closure fees. The ability for a bank to charge $25.00 a week in extended overdraft fees for 6 weeks and $36.00 for an overdraft fee on a - overdraft is more then excessive. Now the bank says they can not do anything about it because is was sent to collections already. I have talked to multiple departments and even filed a complaint all the time being told there is nothing they can do to fix it.
