Medical Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine Massachusetts
I received a letter dated - informing that Benuck & Rainey had been assigned to collect a debt for -. - provided me with a medical device approximately 1 year earlier -/-/-. - 's billing process exhibited negligence and complete incompetence. They not only documented an incorrect service date, but also billed the wrong insurance carrier. I thrice informed them of the their mistakes and re-provided the correct information. Rather than correct their errors and get paid, they began billing me and ultimately assigned the debt to a collector. Within the 30-day window following receipt of the collection notice from Benuck and Rainey, specifically -/-/16, I responded by mail. In this letter I explained that - was several times informed of how to correct their insurance billing error so that they 'd receive payment from the carrier. I stated that I dispute the validity of the debt, and also included a formal request that calls not be made to my cell phone number. I work evenings and my cell phone is partially paid for by my employer for work use. Benuck & Rainey has violated my debtor rights by continuing to make contact attempts ( numerous calls ; at least 2 since post-/-/- ) without first providing proof of debt verification, and by continuing to call a documented work number.
