AES/PHEAA Student loan department,

Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Having problems with customer service West Virginia

I was talked into taking out a private student loan through - - by a parent in -/-/- instead of a federal loan. This parent cosigned for the loan. I ended up not graduating due to being placed in the wrong degree and getting frustrated trying to get in the right degree. This happened in -/-/-. 6 months later my loan came calling asking for their money. While I was living at home with my parent this was doable. Since then I have gotten married and have - children. I bring - around - a month. My expenses run right at that a month even with government aid. My wife has been diagnosed with - that occasionally leaves her -. I have looked into other jobs but do not meet requirements to move into a higher paying job. My cosigner had - 3 years ago and is still buried in debt from that. My loan has been sold off to American EDucati on services by this point. I have made an attempt to see if they can work with me to make this manage able and all they offer is apologies and that I can apply for forbearance. This loan has been collecting interest since I was approved. It had over $3000.00 of interest before I even made my first payment. It is still over $1000.00 above the original amount. I have made a majority of the payments with the cosigner help since the payments began. This is causing - for my wife and I while trying to care for our - children. It has caused tension between me and my cosigner over the financial stress. I have made use of forbearance since my wife and I got married twice I believe but neither was for a long period of time. I see no end to this debt that I do not really have a way to pay on.
