I recently disputed a very old account that showed up on my credit report. A collection agency apparently got my cell phone number from that dispute and began calling me regularly demanding payment for an old Wal-mart account. I told them that I was only interested in paying the debt if it would be completely removed from my credit report. The representative said they were not able to do that, so I asked that she designate my telephone number do not contact. She said that I would have to submit a do not contact request in writing, but she would not give me the address of the business she was calling from. They have continued to call my cell phone.
