Checking account Making/receiving payments, sending money New Jersey
Chase is preventing us from getting into our accounts online and not updating information in the accounts in a timely manner. When we travel, we use a different IP address to log into our accounts. Chase has taken it upon itself, without asking as other banks do, whether we want it to " recognize '' the computer/IP address we are using. It then locked us out when we logged in from another IP address. Recently, we were locked out of our accounts for 2.5 - 3 weeks because of this harassment. To add insult to injury, when we went into a local office of - in -, NJ, it demanded a new email address because its marketing junk email was bouncing. The guy deleted the old email that had been in the system for years and demanded another one. When he was told that we do n't use email, will not create an email account for Chase 's convenience, he said he would not restore the original email address that he had deleted without permission, then refused to restore. This obnoxious behavior typifies Chase 's actions : everything is for its convenience while it continues to deny clients easy access
Similarly, last night or the night before I checked our accounts online. Nothing had been updated since before the - - weekend. Then this morning, a bunch of checks and payments showed up, bringing the balance very low. Had it updated the online information in a timely fashion, we could have easily transferred money into the account before this weekend. As it is, we will need to stagger a credit card payment because Chase withheld critical account information from us. This has all occurred while Chase owes us roughly $130.00 for a credit on their credit card that has been on there for roughly 2 months. it is clear that first it denies us access to our money and bill payment services ; then it withholds account activity information ; followed by a bunch of checks it had been holding, hoping to overdraw the account. This kind of petty harassment and capricious cessation of normal operations needs to be sanctioned effectively and sufficiently to deter it. No bank should be allowed to offer services such as online access and bill payment services, then capriciously withhold them without warning, while trying to collect fees, should the account be overdrawn.
