Citizens Bank ( CFG ) counts it against the bankers if the customers choose to opt out of the debit card coverage. Therefore some bankers encourage their customers to opt in so that their cross sell ratio on new accounts is not negatively effected. If this happens to you, leave. Or just leave now. They do not know what they are doing.
