Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer having problems with customer service
AES/PHEAA Student loan department,
Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Having problems with customer service Idaho
I fell behind on student loans, not because I did not want to pay, but because we could n't pay. We have finally gotten to a point where we can begin making regular monthly payments starting in less than 30 days. Unfortunately, I had - private student loans that went into default at the end of - of -. The accounts have been sent to collections. The collections companies refuse to work with us on payments. They are requiring large amounts of money right now and threatening to ruin our credit scores if we do not comply. We are unable to comply. We have tried calling the original loan servicer to set up monthly automatic withdrawals if they will just bring our loans back out of default. They refuse. All I am asking is that they take these accounts out of default and allow us to set up payments. We are still willing to set up automatic withdrawals. We want this resolved in a way that is not catastrophic to our credit scores or our ability to provide for our family. I hope that we are able to convince the original servicers to work with us, as we are willing and now finally able to pay.
