Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Received bad information about my loan Pennsylvania
My mother took out a loan for my college education with the Highe Education Student Assistant Authotrity in 2009. They made it seem that they were offering a federal loan. They sell themselves as being entirely affiliated with the state of New Jersey ; the state emblem and a picture of - - are on the front page of the website. They are, in fact, entirely private and I 'm filing this complaint because they 're misleading. I 'm also filing this complaint because they do n't offer income-based repayment or consolidation. They 're demanding more than $1000.00 per month from me, a ludicrous amount for a new graduate, and there does n't seem to be any chance of paying anything less than that, ever. Negotation is out of the question. Their truly despicable customer service is part of this complaint but is the most insignificant. They present themselves as being federal but are neither federal nor private, they 're something else entirely.
