To Whom It May Concern : On - -, 2016 I made reports of identity theft/fraud to multiple organizations including the FBI, FTC, CFPB, - and Experian. My reason for this action was an assumption of theft during a credit report check. As I now know part of the authentication process prior to the credit report is the series of questions regarding dates of opened auto loans, home mortgages, bank cards and such. The manner the questions were phrased implied in my opinion that I was suppose to know valid information about an active account involving my identity which prompted me to abruptly cease my credit report and contact authorities reporting my findings. After consulting a legal aide from the Federal Trade Commission website a consultant informed me that the questionnaire was common procedure and many misinterpret this process similar to my situation. I used the service - - to then do a credit check and was pleased to find that the only involvements with my identity were legitimate ones. Unfortunately I reported and assumed fraud had took placed and would like to inform my findings and help with the procedure of undoing anything I may have caused from my over reaction.
