BB&T Financial Consumer Loan department,
Vehicle loan Managing the loan or lease South Carolina
For the past 3 years, - - has been sending paper checks to BB & T for my auto loan. This past -, - - sent them a check for $470.00 on -/-/- with an - of -/-/-. On -/-/-, I receive a notice that I 'm overdue on my - payment and I also owe a late fee of $16.00. So, I pay the amount for - - and - - for a total of $820.00. However, I find out with the help of - - that BB & T had contacted them yesterday to let them know that they had received the check for $470.00 from -. The - - rep even verified that it was the correct check number. So in essence, the money had gotten to - & - When the - - rep asked if I would be getting a refund for the late fee of $16.00, since the lateness was not really caused on mine or - - 's part, the BB & T representative said no. Based on the information that I was given, the fault was clearly with BB & T, who refuse to give me my refund. The .same refund that have the shoe had been on the other foot, they would 've charged me interest for years to come had I not paid that off. Their claim is that the address the check was sent to was an invalid address. I find it hard to believe that after sending payments to that address since -/-/-, that suddenly it becomes an invalid address without anyone informing of that fact until now. The BB & T service rep even told the - - rep and myself that the checks that come in through the branch are forwarded to whatever loan finance department they have, which I 've learned only a week ago is located in -, NC.
