Discover Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing California
-/-/2015, Discover posted a promotion that advertised - % cash back on purchases made with - Pay. They amended the terms and conditions after the offer had started to add a condition prohibiting gift card purchases. Then, starting in -/-/-, Discover arbitrarily and without proof began to disqualify entire purchases based on their hunch that the purchase might contain a gift card. In order to receive the cash back promised on the payment, the customer was required to provide receipts ( which has never been, and still is not, in the terms of the promotion ). I first received notice of disqualified purchases on -/-/- ( attached : - ), with additional notices on -/-/- ( attached : - ). I e-mailed Discover on -/-/- to let them know that I had not saved the receipts from those purchases, but that they were all at least partially non-gift card purchases, and requested the - % cash back that I was due. I received a response from Discover on the - ( attached : - ) telling me they would request my receipts from the merchant and I would hear back when they were done reviewing the account. It is now -/-/- and I have n't heard anything from Discover since then. I would like my cash back, as I have paid an opportunity cost in using Discover over other cards at that time. The amount of cost in disqualified purchases was $1800.00, so I would be owed $180.00 cash back on the purchases if the full amount were to be found eligible.
