First off, I have used paypal for years. I understood the process of buying online with them and I am sure I could provide a history if I had to. When paypal broke off from ebay, something in the process changed. Something in the look of the page changed. I clicked on what I thought was the regular paypal checkout button, finished the transaction as usual, and a couple days later I got a hard credit check notification from -. I checked into it and discovered I had unwittingly signed up for paypal credit. I immediately looked for a phone number for them and cancelled the credit line. They were professional about it until I stated they tricked me into signing up for the credit line. They said I should be more careful about how I conduct online purchasing. I blew it off. I just do n't want my credit score affected.
