Credit card Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was discharged in bankruptcy Virginia
I received a dunning letter from a 3rd part debt collector. I attempted to get validation of debt from them by sending - letters to them. I did not receive a satisfactory response. I then sent them an estoppel letter. ( see attached ). This debt collector unbeknownst to me filed an action in - - - courthouse acting as if they were representing - - -, this was fraud on the court. I just discovered a default judgement was entered in - - - - for a debt that was discharged in my wife 's bankruptcy in 2013 as evidenced by her credit report. These 3rd party debt collectors are posing as attorney 's representing - - -, when in fact they are nothing but interlopers that purchased this old debt for pennies on the dollar and are now attempting to collect the entire amount. I was not properly served by a sheriff as required and as a result a default judgement was entered.
