I had an auto loan with Wells Fargo- originated when I lived in NY and purchased a vehicle there. I lived in VA when I paid off the loan, and received a letter from Wells Fargo at my Virginia address stating they would send me the title at my VA address. That did not happen. This week I purchased a new car and need to transfer the title to the old car, the one I bought with Wells Fargo loan. VA DMV says Wells Fargo maintains an e-lien hold on it and Wells Fargo needs to remove it. Wells Fargo says this is an issue for NY. I have no way to get my title cleared at VA DMV ; both NY and VA insist this is a Wells Fargo issue. I have been in to several branches and spent hours on the phone with these people over several days. I am bounced from one " team member '' to another with nobody able to help me. They are taking advantage of me and waiting for me to give up instead of fixing the problem.
