My aging veteran father is in the early stages of dementia and unable to handle his finances. We discovered this upon learning that several of his monthly financial obligations ( Mortgage, Utilities, life insurance premiums, etc. ) were in arrears. Through my already established power of attorney, I contacted all his vendors, began to manage his finances and have brought all his accounts current. All of his vendors received and acknowledged my power of attorney, thus allowing me to establish online access to manage his accounts. The - exception is Seterus Mortgage. While they have received and approved my power of attorney, and have accepted the catch-up payments I have made on Dad 's account, they have not been able to provide me with a working password with which I can access his account online. My first ( of - ) inquiries into this issue resulted in a " reset '' of his password, sent to my email address. It did not work. The same result occurred - times. When I complained that their new password reset was not working and asked to speak to their customer service department that handles online access issues, they claimed " we really do
as soon as that office opened. That was ten ( 10 ) days ago and no contact has been received. Seterus mortgage specializes in problem mortgage paper which the management of which they acquire from -. Because my Dad 's mortgage fell behind, - moved its administration from - - - to Seterus. One would think that a company specializing in problem mortgage paper would seek to streamline its customer interface so as to facilitate quick and easy payments to become current. That is not the case with Seterus. My Dad 's mortgage is now current and I require access to his account online so I can have full management capability of his relationship with Seterus. I want to confirm his mortgage balance, interest rate, payoff, escrow and loan history.
